What is this all about?

This website is a showcase of my humble amateur work in art of different kinds. As a photography enthousiast and digital graphics artist wannabe, I decided to share a selected range of my work with the world in a website which represents the styles I love. Hope you will enjoy your visit!

Why downtown metropolis?

I always loved the word "metropolis". It is hard to explain but in a nutshell it is related to my love for Jazz, urban activity and the art deco style of Fritz Lang's movie. Downtown is just the place I like to spend time, especially at night. Therefore, downtown metropolis reflected the things I like and was chosen for my domain name and this website.

What is this kanji in the background?

The kanji is the one for "Kaizen". Kaizen is simply translated as "patience" - one of the virtue I often lack - but is also refered to as a continuous improvement technique. Since I beleive I - and all people - can always do better, I decided to insert it in the design of my website. Also, this gives an Asian touch which represents my love for Asia.
